INSURANCE DATA SERVICESsm HELPS MONITOR INSURANCE ON CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS
- August 19, 2002| Hemet, CA, August 19, 2002 - - Insurance Data Servicessm (IDS) a provider of
certificate of insurance compliance monitoring software and services, announced today that
it has developed additional system capabilities to help construction industry clients
monitor insurance coverage of subcontractors working on construction projects. Project owners and general contractors typically require certificates of insurance with additional insured endorsements from subcontractors working at jobsites. Recently, many insurance carriers have started issuing, certificates and additional insured endorsements that are specific to particular locations rather than providing the broader "all operations" wording as in the past. According to Tom Wickes, IDS's Chief Operating Officer, ''this creates a headache for those who have the same subcontractors at multiple jobsites and must now make sure that additional insured protection extends to each project on which a subcontractor performs work." IDS has enhanced its compliance monitoring system so that proper additional insured status can now be requested, recorded and validated for each jobsite on which a subcontractor is working. The system also allows users to instantly verify compliance for any subcontractor via a secured Internet site maintained by IDS. Adjustments to requirements can also be made s subcontractors begin and finish work at jobsites. Wickes added, "anyone who uses subcontractors at multiple locations knows how difficult monitoring insurance compliance has become, this enhancement is going to help." IDS currently provides certificate compliance services for organizations in 15
different industries. Services can be provided via a full service outsourcing arrangement
or by licensing the system via Internet based ASP. IDS is headquartered at 151 N. Lyon
Avenue, Hemet, California 92543. For more information contact Lee Roth, Vice President, at
